How It Works

Hidden inside the wand’s handle is a clever mechanism with rollers and a moving belt — just like in a real Van de Graaff machine.

When you press the button, the belt builds up a static charge that gathers at the wand’s tip.

Drop a Mylar tinsel shape onto the tip and whoosh! — it’s charged with the same type of electricity as the wand, so it floats away.
