Complete the circuit. See it. Hear it. Explore it.

Can you make the Cosmic Energy Stick burst into life?

Place one hand on each of the silver conductive contacts at either end of the clear tube and bright coloured LEDs begin to flash while the stick sounds. Lift either hand away and it stops.

You’ve completed—and then broken—an electrical circuit.

But the real fun begins when you add other people.

Hold one end of the Cosmic Energy Stick while a friend holds the other, then join your free hands. The stick responds again. Add another person… and another…

How big can you make your human circuit?

As long as there is a suitable conductive pathway connecting the two contacts, the Cosmic Energy Stick can respond. Break that pathway and the lights and sound stop.

See the Science Inside

One of the things we particularly love about the Cosmic Energy Stick is its clear tube. The electronics aren’t completely hidden away—you can actually look inside and explore some of the components that make it work.

Look closely and you can spot the LEDs, connecting

wires, circuit board and electronic sounder. Openings in the end cap allow the sound to escape clearly when the circuit is completed.

So this isn’t just a science toy that flashes and makes a noise. It provides a starting point for asking questions about electricity, circuits, conductivity, resistance and electronic components.

There’s lots more to investigate

Once you’ve mastered the human circuit, the experiments can begin.

What happens if somebody in your human chain lets go? Can you make the circuit even bigger? Will the stick respond if you connect the two contacts using another material? Which materials provide a suitable conductive pathway—and which don’t?

Make a prediction, test your idea and see what happens.

What makes the Cosmic Energy Stick special?

• Bright, colourful flashing LEDs and sound provide an immediate response when the circuit is completed
• Create a human electrical circuit on your own or with family and friends
• Explore open and closed circuits, conductivity and resistance
• Investigate conductors and insulators
• Clear tube lets young scientists see the electronics inside
• Approximately 17.2 cm long × 3 cm diameter
• Easy to hold, highly visual and wonderfully interactive
• Batteries are already fitted
• Includes Scientific Sue’s downloadable teaching notes, packed with additional science and investigation ideas

Less packaging. More science.

We’ve chosen to supply our Cosmic Energy Stick without unnecessary retail packaging. It will, of course, be carefully protected for delivery.

This helps us reduce packaging, keep the price down and put the emphasis where we think it belongs—on the science.
